The European monitoring project has been concluded

The European Medicines Agency has completed a major project that explored the possibilities of improving the evaluation of drugs in Europe. This was a project that lasted five years, initiated to identify necessary methods for the reinforcement of monitoring the risk/benefit profiles of medicines through innovative methods, which saw the involvement of 34 partners including national authorities, universities and pharmaceutical companies, coordinated by the EMA and by a multinational company. The results of the project, to be published in a comprehensive report, will be analysed in a detailed and systematic manner during 2015 in order to identify priorities and will significantly influence the practices of pharmacovigilance and the risk/benefit assessment.
